Our conveyancing team understand that you may want to enjoy a more comfortable retirement by releasing equity from your home. Equity Release is an increasingly favoured option by those aged over 55 years old. Equity Release may allow you to make home improvements, travel, help your children financially or simply improve your standard of living.

Equity Release is like a mortgage in reverse. You borrow money against the value of the property but are still able to live there until you die or move to a care home. These plans are protected by the Equity Release Council who are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

It usually takes around 10 weeks from the start to end of the process. The first 3 to 4 weeks are securing the loan offer from the lender plus the further 6 weeks to complete the work.

Our team can also assist if you decide to buy or sell your property using Equity Release to finance the move or when transferring an assisting scheme to a different property. This process is complicated due to the involvement of the Equity Release lender, but our specialist team are experienced in this area and can quickly identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
